Adrenaline will take over the sands of Monte Gordo Beach with the arrival of the Monte Gordo Sand Race, one of the final rounds of the prestigious FIM Sand Races World Cup. This international event, organized by the Automóvel Club de Portugal (ACP) in partnership with the municipality of Vila Real de Santo António, is held under the auspices of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) and the Federação de Motociclismo de Portugal (FMP).
🏁 What Is the Monte Gordo Sand Race?
The Monte Gordo Sand Race is a motorsport competition that brings together the best motorcycle and quad riders in the world, on a circuit drawn directly on the beach sand. With approximately 6 km in length, the course will be raced during low tide, offering a unique spectacle of speed and skill.
📌 Race Format
- Two laps: one on Saturday and one on Sunday.
- Final classification: sum of the times of both laps, with penalties applied if necessary.
- Assistance Zone (ZA): location for refueling and rider changes.

Each vehicle may be driven by two participants, with substitutions allowed at designated points on the circuit.
